I have to admit I love beauty products
I love doing a bit of research on the latest fads I will often sit for hours whilst waiting for my laxatives to kick in ho ho. I have discovered that most of the uk products are pretty much crap and have not that many ingredients that work or penetrate past the first layer of skin (im not a skin specialist in any way shape or form I look up what they actually write)
I have had IPL (laser pen thing for small spider veins and sun damage) when I went for a skin treatment and the consultant noticed I had a bit of sun damage/spider veins she did suggest IPL which I thought yeah yeah bit of a sales pitch con, but as it was on special offer and I had a few pound burning a hole in my pocket £100 I thought why the hell not, I booked myself in and when I had the treatment (which did hurt im not sugar coating it anything for beauty that usually works does come with a price or in my cause a nice red face) I was worried as after 2 weeks I had little veins at the surface of my face looking angry and permanent, but after a month they went and I had really nice new skin and was well chuffed.
This give me a wake up call that yes the sun is dangerous and can damage your skin and sun beds are cancer torches that should be avoided as ive actually known people to get skin cancer I assume from them as they did use them regularly.
So I can say IPL works great, just bit of advice do not go to a beauty salon for this treatment as I went a year later as I had a few more rogue freckles on my nose, their treatment didnt even turn my skin red and on further investigation I found out they are not licened for higher stronger treatments unlike transform etc who are proper plastic surgery practices, so dont be tempted by salon prices that will probably be cheaper.
I can also say Aldi creams are very good but alas they cause me to break out as they are quite perfumed
their synake cream is fab and for like £8 ish is worth a look.
Avon facial/eye creams arent very good although loving their cellulite cream doesnt get rid of it but does give a smooth and soft feel to legs. Youth code and olay are not very good and most the loreal stuff isnt that good either, ROC doesnt fair well and clarins hasnt got much in it to turn back time.
Theres seller on ebay that sells great products Member ID the_tranquillity_zone their stuff has all the right ingredients in it my beloved uses their stuff and loves it and his skin is looking nice more of a preventative though than a cure.
Dermajuv is great but too expensive I cant seem to pick that up anywhere cheaper its american as most of the best ones are deffo grab this if you can see if for a good price.
Nadinola is a skin lightener which im using on a few freckles but cant see a difference yet it says if it doesnt work after 3 month then give it up, Ive been using it for 6 weeks so Ill keep going.
Tescos, sainsburys own makes have good reviews but they are perfumed so no good to me.
Frownies are all the rage in USA but to be honest they do as they say but then theres just another crease next to the frownie so seems a bit pointles unless you cover half your face in them (as i lie on my side with my face really scrunched in my pillow and I have a satin pillow case haha they dont work so dont waste ur money on satin covers or save my face pillows or the one with some sort of minerals built into the material they are all rubbish) They are also silly money prices.
I also sometimes use frownies if I first wake up and theres a crease you lick it and stick it over the crease mark as it pulls it out if left for half hour or so, but I mainly use paper tape on the bottom half of my cheek next to my chin I cut a generous bit off clag it over twice (double it up) then I put a layer of pourous tape over to secure it all and it seems to be working, here in the uk the paper tape is like £1 and the pourous tape I usually buy off ebay for a couple of pound. I deffinatey have seen less of a dint in my lower cheek its where you smile and the lines start getting ingrained and wont disapear when you stop smiling like they did in your 20's.
The cream that I really love (well for now) is ELite its from USA and I firstly tried the eyecream (gel) light and fragrance free was impressed but was expensive so i left it and bought similer ingredients in other creams which never really did it for me. I recieved an email with an offer for the Elite range where I got the eye, face and neck cream all for £68 which I thought was good, they arrived really quick and i started using them within a few weeks my skin looked nice and deffo the wrinkles around my eyes were a bit better I cant say its a miracle as I belive thats called Botox (nope not getting that it hurts!)
Im sure when that runs out I will have to reinvestigate a new cream for a good price but thats what I love about the internet that its full of alsorts of weird and wonderful things to try.
If you want a great facial experience then try Glycolic acid you can get it from http://www.bravuralondon.com/
start with the 30% I was a bit reluctant to try it I mean acid who wants to put acid on their face but I did a patch test and it was ok, did the treatment and it was ok did the second treatment and thought wow my skins feels great after 4 treatments I got a few compliments and was really chuffed, so give it a go (make sure you read the instructions as it prob wont be suitable for everyone)
I have also tried retinol 0.5 it can course redness and puffiness but once again great for some bad for others Aldi creams have got rave reviews to but give me spots but worth checking out. If your in the Uk its deffo worth checking out B&M's as they are always getting new stuff in from Olay to unknown makes that the internet give quite good reviews, the list goes on and on and I will try to add on what I discover as someone out there may get some benefits from my advice. Beauty is skin deep but its still worth looking after what you have.
