CABIN IN THE WOODS rated 15
Me and my husband went to see this last sat and I was expecting amazing things I loved Buffy and Angel who were by the famous Josh Whedon.
I must warn you will be doing yourself a big favour if you dont read what its about I did and I have to say it spoilt it I ended up expecting way to much in this film which is my own fault.
*SPOILER ALERT*
Its a typical story of a group of college students who go to a remote place (the cabin) to let off some steam.
You have the typical blond bombshell, jock, clown, scholar and the Innocent cute girl.
Cut a long story short its all being monitored by strange lab type blokey blokes in a control room controlling stuff to enhance the mood of the motley crew.
Basically in the basement there are lots of old junk and one of them must pick something out of all this junk and make it kind of a main attraction by the whole gang this in turn chooses the fate of the group of youngsters.
Theres an array of gouls and demons etc to choose from and this lot choose a bunch of blood thirsty hillbilly family who want to killthem all.
Im not going to go on but lets just say they fight for their lives some die some live well for a while anyway lol. At the end is the best where you see the vast amount of monsters stored away in glass cubes they all escape and case mayhem.
The whole thing is for a reason though but im not going to spoil it that much.
The film was funny too funny to be a serious horror so if you want to be scared to the point of sleeping with your light on at night then give this a miss its to funny and silly to take serious.
The story is quite good but why show the monsters near the end I think everyone of the teenagers should have got their own horror story from the beginning in the basement it would have been more entertaining that way. The budget maybe?
My husband loved it I was left a bit disappointed but maybe I knew to much about it so if your still reading then dont go expecting more than a bit of a daft not really scary horror save your money for the next paranormal activity film not that ive seen them (im not much of a coward!)
I would rate it 6 out of 10
Hubby thinks it actually deserves a 9 out of 10 (huh were we watching the same film lol)
What my Hubby said - He thinks its a unique story he never got bored with it thought it had ended to soon and wanted more.
Hope I havent spoilt it for you.
